After a gruelling flight and an even more taxing move into our temporary apartment, we finally set out to explore the wonderland of central Tokyo – starting with the obvious: Harajuku. It may be a cliché but Harajuku is still very much the thriving hub of experimental street fashion, staked out by photographers and tourists all trying to catch a glimpse of the next big thing.
We took a load of photos and video but we’re going to compile it into a little YouTube post shortly, rather than whack them all in here. Unfortunately we were not allowed to film in many of the shops you guys wanted to see (notably, Angelic Pretty and Baby the Stars Shine Bright) but we’re going to go back and try again anyway! We’ve got this harebrained idea that we could cut a hole into a cheap shopping bag and secretly film things as we walk around, CIA style. So stay tuned! Hopefully we won’t be deported by the fashion police…

Hey guys, Imo here! There’s me (far left) and Nina (far right) with the beautiful, beautiful models from our photoshoot. We didn’t end up using the group shots, but we took a few just in case. It’s a bit of a shame, really!
Anyway, the real news for today is that we’re leaving for Japan one Wednesday! That’s right – in just three sleeps’ time, we’ll be winging our way to Tokyo and staying there for a month negotiating with various Japanese fashion labels. During this time we’ll be filming and photographing our experiences, so you can look forward to seeing what it’s really like.
So here’s my question: Is there anything in Tokyo that you would like us to visit and film/photograph? We would love to provide a window into places you’ve always been interested in, but never had a chance to check out for yourself! Even if you have been to Tokyo, let us know about any crucial spots that we really shouldn’t miss!

Nina and I both organised a photo shoot to introduce a few of the Japanese styles that Electric Alice will be importing. (Thank you so much to our models Mary, CMing and Faith, as well as the lovely Julija Lichman who photographed and manipulated the images in Photoshop!) Last night was my brother’s 21st, so I thought it appropriate to wear this cheerful halter-neck party dress by Angelic Pretty! It’s called “Dreaming Macaron” and it is probably two years old by now, but never get tired of the bright little macarons and fruits. Unfortunately the hem of the dress is framed out by this terrible picture, but it has an adorable border-print with little cakes and whipped cream. (I thought I’d match the whipped creams with my cute pink strawberry cream ring from Q-Pot!) (more…)
