And now it’s time to announce the winners of our Facebook Kawaii Inspiration Contest!

We have been absolutely blown away with all the entries we’ve recieved, and loved hearing who inspires you to stay Kawaii. So, we have a little surprise:

Everyone who entered our contest will receive a discount voucher to be used in the Electric Alice store!

The runner up in the voting contest will receive a 30% off discount voucher, and the lucky duck who comes third will receive a 20% off voucher! Everyone else receives a 15% off  voucher for their next purchase! Hooray!! Congrats guys, we will be emailing you your special discount codes in the next couple of days.

And now, we’d like to announce the winner of the Electric Alice Choice Award!

The winner of this award was selected by a panel of Electric Alice staff, contributors and models, who were looking for a cute and creative entry. We have to say, it was a terribly tricky decision- there were creative use of colours in coordinates, cute collages, handmade dresses and heartwarming stories of kawaii inspiration abound. Not to mention the fact that EVERYONE was just too cute!! After much deliberation, we have decided to award the Electric Alice Choice prize to…

Victoria!

“My kawaii inspiration is Heri from Grimoire. She has always been my favourite! Her outfits from various street snaps and the Grimoire blog entries are also one of the things that made me want to try this fashion out. To me, she is simply the perfect Dolly.”

We felt Victoria put an interesting spin on the concept of Kawaii with her Dolly Kei coordinate. It’s really hard to pull off a Grimoire outfit, and Victoria’s done so with style! We also thought she put a lot of effort into her entry with the super cute collage. Congratulations, you’ll be receiving $75 worth of Electric Alice goodies in  the mail soon!

Super cute documentary and some updates! <3

Hello cupcakes!

Before we get on to the news, we wanted to show you this really cute little documentary by Brisbane Lolita Goldie! Take a look and let us know what you think!

We thought it was really interesting to hear about the experiences people have had whilst wearing lolita. We especially loved the wig story! Was there a story that you liked or could identify with?

We also have some news for you today! ♥

First of all, we will be posting our first lot of photos for our Kawaii Inspiration Contest tomorrow! We’d love to see your entry!

You are allowed to wear any Harajuku or cute style because really they are all adorable in their own quirky way. :> Also, you are allowed to use collages as well, but you are only allowed to use one outfit in your entry, kay? ♥

Secondly, if you haven’t already, you should totally add us on facebook for exclusive content, updates and special sales! Over the weekend we had a sale for our facebook followers and it was a lot of fun!

Thirdly, we want to say hello to who we think might be our youngest fan, Miss B who is 11 years old! Hello darling, Electric Alice is for girls just like you! Always be yourself and be proud of who you are. ♥ And that goes for all of you guys! ♥♥

‘Who’s Your KAWAII inspiration?’ Electric Alice Facebook Contest!

Hey everyone! ♡ Electric Alice has some exciting news!

1) We will be having a major update and sale before Christmas!
2) To celebrate, we are having a facebook photo contest!


There are two lucky pack prizes up for grabs worth $150 and $75!

The major prize goes to the entry with the most votes, and the runner up will be chosen by the EA team (we will pick the most creative entry)! ♡ Both packs will contain coordinating items, and we might just post up some sneaky clues as to what they contain throughout the contest. ;D

The contest theme is:

“kawaii style inspirations!”


How to enter:

1) Come up with a totally rad coordinate inspired by your kawaii style icon! Check out Pie’s collage above for ideas!

2) Send us a snap of yourself in the coordinate and tell us in 50 words or less who your kawaii style inspiration is and why! Our email is enquiry@electricalice.com!

3) On Tuesday 13th of December EST, we will post all the photos we have received so far on our facebook! Of course, you can send in entries after this date and we’ll pop them up for you too!

4) People can vote for your entry by liking Electric Alice’s facebook and your happy snap! ♡ We will post the rules for voting (eg. no dummy accounts) at the time of uploading the snaps, but it’s pretty straight forward – play nice!

5) Facebook voting closes on Friday 30th December EST! We will send the winner their snazzy prize in the mail! ♡

Electric Alice Casting Call

This is an official Casting Call for Electric Alice models. We have seen a lot of great outfit snaps from our readers, and we’ve received a few emails from girls who expressed interest in modelling, so we know there must be a heap of you out there! Even if you have emailed us before, please re-submit your details for this exciting project because we recently lost a lot of our older emails. :(

Anyway, allow us to introduce our photographer: Brendan Daniel! He has made a name for himself in Japan by photographing J-Rock idols like Mana, fashion labels like Takuya Angel, and even the adorable Maki and Lailah (RinRin) from Angelic Pretty! (I don’t know about you guys, but we’re sooo damn jealous!)

Awesome, tell me more!

★ The photo shoot will take place in a professional studio with full outfit styling – with some cute new products you haven’t seen yet! The photos will be used on ElectricAlice.com, Facebook.com, Livejournal fashion communities and other related websites.

★ The shoot will be fully catered. <3

★ Brendan will supply each model will a couple of edited photographs on CD, for your portfolio!

★ If we like working with you on this shoot, we will offer you the chance to work on a high-concept, fashion story that we will be sending out to high-profile fashion magazines across Australia!

I’m in! What do I need to do?

★ Make sure you are free on Sunday, January the 30th, 2011, and that you can get to Randwick, near Centennial Park, in Sydney. We will do our best to provide lift-sharing to everyone but we can not guarantee it!

★ Make sure you are prepared with your make-up and hair done, and we will give you the finishing touches.

★ Give us your name, age, and measurements (bust, waist and hips), along with 2-3 clear, large pictures of yourself that show your face and your body type. (We are not necessarily looking for thin or tall models, but girls with a cute and unique look that can fit a Japanese size 9, which is somewhere an Australian 8-10.) Send your submissions via email to enquiry[at]electricalice.com by January 26th. The earlier, the better!

STORE OPENING COMPETITION!

This competition gives you a chance to win a special preview of the Electric Alice online store and buy anything that takes your fancy – before anyone else has even seen it!

To enter, simply follow these easy steps:

~ ♫♪ ★ ♫♪ ~

1. Take a photograph of yourself wearing your boldest, brightest, craziest Tokyo-inspired coordinate and tag it with the name “Electric Alice” – either digitally, or by holding an object with “Electric Alice” written on it. (If you do it digitally, feel free to use any crazy fonts you like, or you can use the Electric Alice logo.)

2. Become a fan of the Electric Alice facebook page and upload your picture as a fan photo. (Just post it on the wall!)

3. Promote your picture on Facebook by asking your friends to “Like” your photo. The photo with the highest number of “Likes” by 11:59pm EST on Sunday June 27th will be the winner!
